Daboo (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a friendly screen-time competition app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Our approach is simple: we collect as little as possible, we don’t sell your data, and we never run ads.
The daily screen-time total you enter. You type this in yourself; we do not read it from your device. We store only the daily total — never per-app detail, timestamps, content, or browsing history.
A future opt-in feature may let Daboo measure your daily screen time for you using Apple’s Screen Time APIs (Family Controls / Device Activity), so you don’t have to log it by hand. If you choose to turn this on:
Friends and groups you create or join, and your daily totals as shown on the leaderboards you belong to.
Like most apps, our backend may process limited technical information needed to operate the service securely (for example, the timing of requests and error/diagnostic logs). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, browsing history, or message content. (A future opt-in version may match contacts; if so, only a one-way hash of phone numbers is used, it will be clearly optional, and this policy will be updated first.)
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your data on these bases:
We share data only with the service providers that make Daboo run, and only as needed. These providers act as our processors and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple | Sign in with Apple authentication | Name, email (or relay email), Apple user identifier |
| Supabase | Backend database & hosting | Account info, screen-time entries, friends/groups |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public. If Daboo is ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Daboo contains no third-party advertising SDKs and no third-party analytics SDKs. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, so there is nothing to opt out of under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with our backend provider behind access controls and row-level security rules that limit each user to their own data and the leaderboards they belong to. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
Our service providers may process and store data on servers located in the United States. Where data is transferred from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) provided by those processors.
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, friends, groups, and logged days are removed from our live systems; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our backup rotation (typically within 30 days).
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
The fastest way: Profile → Delete account permanently removes your profile, friends, groups, and logged days.
Email us at ryan.j.tish@gmail.com from the address on your account and we’ll verify and respond within 30 days. EEA/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.
We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not knowingly process the data of California residents for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct their personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Use the contact above to make a request.
Daboo is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last Updated” date above, and for material changes we’ll provide a more prominent notice where appropriate.
